Project FloatingAbode Diary
28 February, 2000 Reeves Boatbuilders were meant to start my shell today. Instead they started a few days ago and have already tack welded much of the hull together! Having primed myself to expect accumulating delays, this was a pleasant surprise. Here's some pictures! Next steps Here's a picture of the neighbouring boat in the boatbuilding shed. It's a little bit further on: When the boat looks like the following picture, it will be time to transport it by road and crane to somewhere convenient for fitting out. As of 28/2/00, the estimated delivery date is just two weeks away and I still haven't chosen the location. I do have two possibilities: a farmyard near where I work, or in the water at a marina about 30 mins from where I work. There's a complex range of pros and cons for each. Note that in the picture it's snowing - as if proof were needed that British weather is not always warm and sunny! |
